In addition, this insurance for dogs is mandatory in the autonomous Basque Country and Madrid, regardless of race, while the rest of the country is only mandatory for dogs classified as dangerous.

Insurance for dogs, depending on the type that is engaged, can cover veterinary fees, compensation in case of theft, ad insertion in case of loss, liability, legal defense, stay in homes in case of hospitalization of the owner.

In terms of rates or prices on insurance for dogs, depends on the type of dog involved:

- Dogs are not dangerous: between 35 and 75 euros per year
- Dog dangerous between 70 and 150 euros per year
